Ortho-Bionomy and Packages!

I had a blast at my Ortho-Bionomy course this weekend! Now that I have some experience with the work, I can describe it to you using real English rather than the definition I copied and pasted into my previous post 🙂 It basically works like this: most of us have some part of our bodies that don’t sit they way they “should”, whether it be a protracted shoulder, a head sitting farther forward than it should be (there are elements of what I like to call “desk posture”!). Or maybe you had an injury a long time ago, from a fall or a car accident, and something got slightly moved out of alignment. You may have had this issue for so long that you don’t even notice it anymore. Your brain has accepted this new position as the status quo.

OB works with your nervous system and your body’s innate ability to correct itself. Let’s say we’re working with the forward head posture. What the practitioner would do is actually move your head into and even further forward position and hold it in place- exaggerating the position you usually hold to the point where your brain finally recognizes that no, it’s not supposed to be that way. The practitioner applies a bit of pressure, and then- your neck releases to the position it’s supposed to be in. It’s really incredible. It sounds too simple to be effective, but I tell you- it works. I’ve tried it on a few clients and friends and experienced it myself and it’s really amazing how it works.

I’ve only taken the one class (so far!) so I’m far from being a registered Ortho-Bionomist, but if you’re interested, I’d be happy to sprinkle some OB into your session so you can experience for it yourself!

On another note, I’m now offering discounted packages! Click on the *NEW!* section on the top right to see what kind of packages I’m offering.
